o cap off their three-day Fantasy & Dungeon Synth takeover of Utrecht, the organizers of Echoes from the Dungeon Fest II present a special double-feature movie screening at Moira.

The program opens with ‘The Darkness Before Your Eyes’, a short musical dungeon synth and fantasy film by Erang. Deeply personal and steeped in nostalgia, the film offers an intimate glimpse into the background and inspirations of one of the pioneering figures of the genre’s modern revival, weaving together home videos, original animations, film clips, literary excerpts, and, of course, an epic, immersive soundtrack.

This is followed by the 1922 silent horror masterpiece ‘Häxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages’, presented with an original score by Cold Sanctum. Based in Portland, Oregon, Cold Sanctum has previously composed scores for several silent horror and sci-fi classics, including ‘Metropolis’, ‘The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari’, and ‘Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror’. For Häxan, he delivers an ominous, suspense-laden dungeon synth score that perfectly complements the film’s occult themes and haunting visuals.

ROSALIE is a conceptual album that blurs the line between memory and fiction. Through raw storytelling and atmospheric production, it follows the emotional unraveling of a narrator slowly separating from Rosalie — a character who embodies both love and loss, ecstasy and numbness.

With its mix of alternative hip-hop and pop, the album captures the feeling of drifting through nights you’ll never fully remember but will always carry with you. ROSALIE isn’t just a collection of songs — it’s a story about losing yourself, letting go, and finding a way back.

BIO SCOUT

For Scout, it all began with words. In 2017, he wrote his first lyrics — a search that led him away from studying architecture and straight into music. What followed was a voice that refuses to be boxed in: alternative hip-hop and pop merging into intense, emotional storytelling.

His debut album Scout (2021) told the story of where he came from. His EP littekens (2023) revealed where he was heading. Now, Scout continues to build a path that is bold, unconventional, and entirely his own, with one dream in sight: one day filling the Main Hall of Paradiso.

Currently, Scout is on the release tour for his sophomore studio album ROSALIE — a poetic journey about shedding parts of yourself along the road to growth. It’s a story of change, of becoming, and of learning to let go.

Het is je eerste dag op school. In je tasje zitten witte boterhammen en een lekkende plastic drinkbeker. Er waait zand langs de tegels van het schoolplein en er heerst een ambiance van rollende knikkers. Is dit een droom? Of is het een dans van gedachten en gevoelens, gecomprimeerd in tijd, die als een discobal in je fantasie tollen?

Droomboter is een vijftal muziek-mensen dat vriendschap viert in poëtische indierock liedjes — en feest deelt middels het podium. Hun goocheme klanken zijn de benzine voor dans en droom. Van cineville-indieboy-lifestyle tot kinderlijk urgente ramkraak: het blijft barsten van energie en emotie. Ze struinden (bijna) alle Utrechtse podia af en slingerden hun eerste EP ‘Treinvaart’ de ether in. Nu is het tijd voor CD nummer twee: ‘Goudgeel Droomboter’.

Moira offers a space for creatives to live, work and organise. The exhibition space on the ground level hosts several activist collectives that organise workshops, events and exhibitions. Our venue is located in the basement of the building, and we host all kinds of events down there. From quiet yoga sessions to banging bands, and from poetry nights to punk performances, you can find it in our basement! There is a weekly open mic night and regular events in the venue.
